30-10-10: How it works

1. Sign a commitment card so that the elders can pray for you during it and so that we know the numbers of resources that are required.

2. Find someone to share this journey with you.   Someone to partner with; Someone to be your strength and encouragement; Someone to share the highs and lows with; Someone who will ask you if you’ve done  it; Someone who you can tell what you’re getting out of it.

Using the Partnership Card (if this will help you) choose someone to partner with and ask them.

If you can’t think of anyone, then chat to Ralph about it and we’ll work it out together.

3. Make sure you pick up a devotional that was written by Marina Schmidt. This is an excellent resource to help you on your journey. It includes some readings, some illustrations, some prayers and some insights.

 4. Grab a wristband and wear it.

For two reasons:

1. It’s a memory tool to help you remember each day to pray for ten minutes and read your Bible for ten minutes.

2. People will ask you what it’s about, and you’ll have a  chance to share with them as much or as little as you wish, but you’ll at least get a chance.

5. You need to set aside 10 minutes tomorrow to read your Bible. You can go with the readings we have here in the book. You can choose your own. You can read through a book in the Bible. Do whatever works for you.

6. Set aside another 10 minutes to pray. Spend that time with God. Chat to him, asking him questions, telling him about where you’re at, listen for his voice.

7. Come back next week: To pick up the next devotional book, to learn about journaling and to have more of your spirit stirred.
